![]() 50 audio tracks? Thats nothing that should be doable on any machine at this point even with fast external SSD storage. You're seriously mistaking what can be accomplished in 16GB of RAM on a regular machine, let alone something like the M1 where RAM can be accessed simultaneously by everything. Speed is not an issue for these new machines and they're doing the work at a fraction of the power of the system the OP is referring to. He also mentioned how many instances of Diva, running as Intel with "divine" mode he was able to accomplish in Logic without it breaking a sweat. Nick Batt just talked on the latest Sonic Talk about how the 8GB model he bought was smoking his 32GB video editing machine with native DaVinci Resolve for video work. There has been plenty written and YouTube posts made already about the capabilities of the new Mini with 16GB. He says hes curious about the capabilities and the noise because of what he's read so far. Nowhere in that post does he say he needs a new machine. ![]() MIts funny that you didn't actually read what the OP wrote before responding. ![]() So again, if you need a machine NOW that you can run lots of samples etc then the M1 isn't a good choice. The OP wants a machine now, it might take a year before his particular DAW/VI sound library has been recoded so it would be of no use to him.Īlso the M1 is limited to 16 gigs of ram as a someone who uses lots of VSTi's that's not going to suffice at all this day and age. As far as I'm aware the large sample players and libs let alone most DAW software hasn't been recoded yet so how can you make that statement?
