![]() In Ground Zero Texas, you also have four cameras to watch, but the game is simpler: this time you just have to shoot badguys when they appear, that's all. Both games are absolutely terrible - Double Switch ranks fourth worst among all Sega CD games I own at the moment, on my list, and Night Trap (which I only have for 32XCD) is just as bad or worse. Then catching people is a sort of QTE-like thing, you need to hit the correct button when the enemy is in just the right place. ![]() In order to properly play the game, you spend a lot of time watching empty rooms waiting for intruders. It's mouse-compatible, if that means anything to anyone!Ĭlick to expand.First time ever? That's not true, I said moderately positive things about Ground Zero Texas but negative things about Double Switch in my Sega CD Game Opinion Summaries thread a few years ago, you know!īut yeah, in Night Trap and Double Switch, you have four cameras to watch. While Data East published it here, Sega developed it, and playing it, I imagine some back corner of Sega of Japan in 1992-1993 housing a handful of guys messing around and trying to crack each other up. ![]() As long as you have the RAM cartridge, playing through both of the games nets you a CD-exclusive third story that as far as I know has nothing to do with the Japan-exclusive third Game Gear game.įor other unique Sega CD games, I like Panic because it uses the expanded storage medium to just make a bunch of weird point and click jokes. ![]() The towns/shops are simplified in these games to be only a menu (personally I like how streamlined it is), but in general, very enjoyable games. The CD version is basically the Game Gear games exactly, but with graphics and sound upgraded to match their Genesis brethren, and with redbook CD music. The second one came out in English on Game Gear as "Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya" (the Game Gear version is also on the 3DS Virtual Console), but outside of SFCD, the first one (and third one) never got released in English. It's a compilation of the first two out of the three Shining Force Game Gear games.
